So here I am, reminiscing about the good ol’ days when I had an iron stomach and perfect digestion…

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times - I can’t digest meat well. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love the taste and flavor of it!

Every now and then when I would throw caution to the wind and dine out with a friend, my friends would comment that I ate such strange combinations of food.

For example:

1. Am I the only one who likes French fries in my grilled steak salad? That kind of salad is SO GOOD this way!

2. I can’t possibly be the only person who loves black olives, red onions, jalapeños, pepperoncini AND hot red pepper jelly on my provolone cheesesteak!

3. Honey slathered on biscuits is a naughty, high-carb MUST.

4. I like it when my bacon touches the syrup on my plate. Sometimes I even dunk my bacon in the syrup!

5. I used to eat toasted peanut butter and bacon sandwiches like crazy when I was a kid. Haven’t had one in years. :-(

6. I have no problem with steaming a whole mess of crab legs for just myself at home. Steaming water is easy!

7. The best way to eat a huge Portobello mushroom is topped with crispy bacon, toasted hazelnuts, lump crabmeat, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Try it sometime!

8. When I used to go to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, I would dip my shoestring fries in my creamed spinach. Fatty food heaven!

9. I love to crunch on whole, raw jalapeños…seeds and all. :-)

10. That tzatziki sauce that you get at Greek and Middle Eastern kebab restaurants is yummy mixed into your rice!

11. The best pizza toppings are chopped garlic and sliced mushrooms…with a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes, of course.

12. When I’m craving salt, I sometimes crack open a jar of Kalamata olives and eat them one after the other. They’re so sour and good!

13. Scrambled egg and ketchup sandwiches are the bomb!

14. McCormick Seasoned Salt makes EVERYTHING taste better. My cousins used to tease me that I’d sprinkle seasoned salt on my desserts if I could.

15. Spicy brown mustard and a thick slice of raw onion are all I like on my
turkey burger. The stronger the onion, the better. Now gimme a kiiiissss. *smooch*

16. Chopped green chilies taste sooooo good mixed into baked macaroni and cheese. Sometimes I make one spicy pan and one plain pan of it.

17. Fresh, ripe strawberries dropped into your champagne glass are wonderful. Champagne and strawberries were made for each other!

18. Sometimes for dinner I’ll just have one big, fat sweet potato, baked until the natural sugar oozes out and caramelizes the skin of the sweet potato. No need for butter or anything else on it…just that sweet potato love. Dinner is SERVED!

19. I can eat a whole head of broccoli in one sitting if you sauté it in some EVOO with a bunch of garlic. Bliss!

20. And for the grand finale…I like a splash of fresh-squeezed lemon juice in my
chicken soup. Delicious!

OK, so maybe my palate isn’t all that weird and I’m just greedy.

I’m sure some of y’all eat even more bizarre food pairings that would put my list to shame!
